Ombre Hair Services

Ombre hair is extremely popular, and becoming more so in Bolton. Celebrities including Jessica Biel, Rachel Bilson, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Khloe Kardashian have all embraced the trend. Nearly 33 million Google results are returned when searching for how to do this popular style at home. Stylists have found that Ombre hair is one of the easiest types of hair dying available. Here is our recipe for how we achieve perfect Ombre Hair every time.

Ombre Hair Procedure

Preparation:

We wash and condition your hair thoroughly, then brush your hair completely smooth and free of tangles.

For best results, you need to have smooth and untangled hair. A few strands of tangled hair could cause your dye to look messy and uneven.

Application:

Most people are unsure where to start fading the colour into the hair. As a rule of thumb, we have found it’s best to start by your jawline. We can maintain control over the colour gradient from your natural colour by leaving the dye in your hair for a longer or shorter period of time. We do a test strand in 20 minutes, checking it every five minutes to determine how much you like the colour. If you’re worried about your hair becoming “brassy,” twenty minutes should be a perfect time frame.

If you’re looking for a subtler look, we can run the applicator brush through your hair vertically, so that you only dye specific hair strands. If you want to go extreme, we can apply the dye horizontally to cover as much hair as possible.

We know that it is important not to apply the dye to too much hair, as the contrast makes the Ombre. Like most things, Ombre is best in moderation.

Ombre can damage your hair, especially if you have black or dark brown hair. To avoid this we may have to bleach it first. After dying, we recommend letting us treat your hair with nutrient-rich shampoos and conditioners. Depending on the condition of your hair, we may have to apply a hot oil treatment to replace some of the nutrients lost in the dying process.

Ombre kits can be found in various shades at your local drug store, usually retailing for about £10. For a more professional Ombre look, it’s best to consult with us at hairdresser Bolton as we have the experience and tools to provide you with a perfect gradient.
